ecoENERGY rebates expire March 31, 20121 min read

Reading Time: < 1 minute

There are five steps required to qualify for the ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes program and each of them MUST be completed by March 31, 2012. Each of these steps will take a bit of time and they have to be completed in the correct order, so if you want to qualify for this program you should get started immediately. Don’t miss out because you left a step incomplete!
First, you must register each property as a “new participant” or “past participant” in order to receive a registration number.
Second, if your property hasn’t had an energy evaluation since April 2007, you need to make an appointment and get one completed.
Third, the work, installation or upgrades need to be completed after the initial energy evaluation.
Fourth, you need to have a post-retrofit energy evaluation with the same service organization that performed the initial evaluation. They are going to be really busy right before the deadline so we recommend having the work scheduled right after the initial appointment and booking the follow-up appointment as soon as those dates are confirmed.
Fifth, you must have the ecoENERGY application form signed and mailed no later than March 31, 2012. Remember, there are no extensions!
These rebates can add up to thousands in savings when you are renovating, or updating your home.  It’s an opportunity that we hope you make the most of.
