Spring has certainly sprung – I can tell by the colour of my thumbs! This week’s Green Living episode is all about how to green your lawn and garden organically this season, and in year’s to come.
Previously, many of us relied on harsh chemicals to keep your lawn and garden green, lush and pest-free. But, frankly, those chemicals worked really well because they were really potent, and really toxic. Yikes! Today, most of these toxins are now banned, so we need to look at alternative, organic lawncare helpers.
Let’s start with your lawn and garden checklist to ensure success:
- Planning ahead
- Avoiding harsh chemicals and pesticides
- Composting
- Watering responsibly
- Controlling weeds and pests naturally
- Protecting your lawn organically
Check out this week’s High Definition video for a better understanding of each area and learn how you can keep your lawn and garden healthy — without putting the comfort and health of your family at risk. This checklist is just a start, and there are many other great ideas on organic lawn and garden maintenance, so begin with the basics and learn what works best for your own yard.
