We have so many smoke detectors I lost count and yes we check and change the batteries on a regular basis. Our home is pretty old and I am glad that there are so many installed. We don’t have any carbon monoxide detectors :(. Now that you mention it I will bring that concern to my husband. Thanks for the reminder RHC :-)

We had a carbon monoxide leak two years ago and ever since then I am detector obsessed, I have two carbon detectors on each floor and a smoke detector on every level. you can never be too safe, that was the scariest day of our lives !

I test them monthly and put new batteries in them every few months

We smoke detectors, but not the carbon monoxide detectors and all batteries were just changed.
